Abstract

A short-EVN observation of an unusual Seyfert galaxy 1ES 1927+654 (z=0.017), which is recently experiencing of dramatic optical (ASASSN-18el; ATel #11391) and X-ray (ATel #12169) outbursts and variabilities in magnitude and spectra, potentially supporting a turning on of a rapid accretion episode in the central engine. By comparing the proposed new data and archive data, we possibly witness a rare opportunity of a state transition in an active galactic nucleus (AGN). In this proposed observation, we intend to obtain its radio flux and pc-scale structures, and further investigate if there is a compact radio core, which is essential for future monitoring observations.

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
