Abstract

22 GHz JVLA observations show several unresolved regions in the hotspot 3C 227 West. The compact mas-scale structure should provide information on the acceleration mechanisms at the edge of radio galaxies. The most suitable phase-reference calibrator however is slightly resolved at 2.3 GHz and is resolved at 8.4 GHz where the flux ranges between 80 and 40 mJy from short to long baselines. For this reason we would like to check if the source is a suitable calibrator for phase-referencing at 5 GHz.

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
