Abstract

We want to make use of the unique capabilities of the e-VLBI to study radio transient phenomena (i.e. outbursts) associated with X-ray binary systems (XRBs). The radio observations will be complemented by (quasi-)simultaneous optical/IR and X-ray observations as part of a larger multi-wavelength collaboration. In particular, we are interested in the interaction between the jets and the surrounding medium, and the correlations between the jet and disk emissions. We are requesting up to 12h per e-VLBI session of triggered observations to be performed at 5 GHz, in phase-referencing mode. The sample contains XRBs with known radio counterparts, accurate coordinates, suitable near by phase-referencing calibrators, and are expected to be bright enough for a confident detection with the e-EVN. This is a continuation of previous projects.

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
