Abstract

A distinctive feature of the FR0 radio galaxies is their compact structure and a deficit of extended radio emission. The importance of studying FR0 radio galaxies is due to their numerous and, therefore, FR0s follow universal activity mechanisms. However, the nature of the FR0s and their connection to other classes of compact extragalactic radio sources are still unclear. The goal of the proposal is to obtain and analyse multifrequency images of the FR0 radio galaxies sample with mas and sub arcsec resolutions. Images with the sub arcsec angular resolution will make it possible to constrain the sizes of FR0 radio galaxies at scales tens--hundreds parsec and investigate the relationship of these structures with parsec scales structure and extended radio components at tens kpc. The candidates for VLBI observations were selected based on the results of the RATAN-600 observations. We suppose to study the radio structure of 13 FR0s. We plan a monitoring program of the FR0 objects with the RATAN-600 radio telescope within the program "Spectra of FR0 radio galaxies in the centimeter range" quasi-simultaneously with EVN and e-MERLIN.

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
