NGC4051 20 years later: testing the jet velocity
The origin of low luminosity radio emission in radio-quiet AGN is unknown. Thanks to the absence of strong relativistic jets several emission processes can be probed, like star formation, AGN driven winds and low power jets. NGC4051 is a narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxy, who hosts a radio-quiet AGN with no large scale radio jets, but that shows great activity in the X-rays. Zooming at VLBI scales a small FR-II-like structure was found, with two faint separate components at ~0.4 arcsecs from the core. We request EVN+eMERLIN observations in L-band to measure the proper motion of these components by comparing it with other observations from ~20 years ago and to look for any possible interaction with the interstellar medium.
