Title

EVN GEODESY AND ASTROMETRY

Abstract

This proposal has three objectives: (i) measure the positions of the 10 non-geodetic EVN telescopes, following up on previous such observations, to monitor such positions and determine the telescope velocities induced by plate tectonic motions, (ii) strengthen the current K band celestial reference frame by acquiring data on longer baselines than currently available, especially in the North-South direction, (iii) image the ICRF3 defining sources to assess their astrometric suitability at very high resolution. To reach these objectives, we request 48 hours of observing time at K band, possibly split in two blocks of 24 hours, with a recording rate of 2048 Mb/s.

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
