Title

Gas properties of HMYSOs: the methanol and ex-OH masers

Abstract

In this pilot project we propose to image the excited OH maser line at 6.035 GHz in three targets that were previously imaged by our group in the 6.7 GHz methanol maser line using the EVN in 2004-2010. The excited OH spectra were found in a survey of a large sample of OH counterparts of methanol masers that has been carried out since 2018 with the Torun 32 m telescope. Radial velocities of spectral features of methanol and excited OH overlap in the majority of sources suggesting that both lines arise in the same volume of gas. We need high angular resolution data to verify this hypothesis. Combining the methanol images with the new OH maps we will be able to verify the theoretical models of maser emission and get to understand better the physical conditions in structures surrounding high-mass young stellar objects (HMYSOs).

Context for this data

This data is part of the archive of VLBI data maintained by JIVE on behalf of the EVN, a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa. The EVN archive itself has the DOI https://doi.org/10.17616/R3Z197
